NSM Norbert Schläfli AG has over 35 years of experience in the field of multi-functional printing and coating technologies. Innovative and customized solutions are developed for research and development laboratories. A custom-fit machine enclosure was ordered for a new printing and coating machine. This machine enclosure should not only provide easy access to the machine and best functionality, but also a particularly appealing design.
Many factors were taken into account when developing this customized solution for a machine enclosure. Direct communication between the engineers at NSM AG and Phoenix Mecano was essential for a successful and speedy project. A particular challenge was the procurement of the individual special components and their increasingly long delivery times at the time of the project. In order to be able to guarantee on-time delivery, special parts that were difficult to procure, such as the plexiglass, gas springs for doors and flaps, aluminum connectors and other small materials, had to be organized "just in time" by Phoenix Mecano. Despite all this, the highest priority was given to quality. Design was also of great importance.
The regular and perfectly coordinated communication between the technical department of NSM Norbert Schläfli AG and the engineering department of Phoenix Mecano was the basis for the successful implementation of the project and went off without a hitch. From the customer's idea onwards, the design engineers were able to take all technical details and changes into account, so that the entire process was very agile and flexible. After the approval of all technical drawings, the procurement of all components had to start immediately. From the machining and painting of all profiles, to the complete assembly, the entire machine enclosure was assembled in Stein am Rhein. After the complex machine enclosure had been accepted by the customer on site, transport to the customer was finally organized by Phoenix Mecano.
