Challenges

What challenges lurk in the plastic injection molding process?

Developers for electronic and electrical devices often focus on the "inner values" of the innovative products. These are, for example, the software, electronics, switching elements, displays and circuit boards. Designing the shape of the appropriate housing is one thing. It is a completely different matter when it comes to producing the first prototype, building the mold and later manufacturing an entire series of injection-molded parts. First prototypes do not meet the requirements. The injection molded parts fall apart or the material surface has sink marks. In the worst case, the housings are designed in such a way that the parts cannot be produced economically or at all, or defects are not discovered until the devices are already on the market. If, for example, the mixtures for the material, the seal or the clearances in the mold are not correct, this can lead to expensive manufacturing defects. The delay for bringing the product to market associated with the errors can lead to an explosion in costs.

Series production injection molded parts

For the production of plastic injection molded parts, we can use the cost-effective production facilities of the Phoenix Mecano Group. Variant production, finishing and assembly are then carried out in Switzerland. In this way, we are able to guarantee high flexibility in order quantities and short delivery times. The one-piece flow in our production reduces stock quantities to a minimum and allows us to manufacture individual product variants at short notice.
